Bottom Line Secrets International Web Site Privacy Policy

Effective February 2004

Thank you for visiting BottomLineIntl.com, the international Web site for Boardroom Inc. publications. This privacy policy ("Policy") applies to all Boardroom Inc. Web sites, including but not limited to BottomLineIntl.com (collectively, the "Web sites"). This Policy explains what information Boardroom Inc. ("Boardroom" or "we") collects on the Web sites and how such information is used. By visiting any of the Web sites, you signify your acceptance of this Policy.

Boardroom reserves the right to change the terms of this Policy at any time. Any changes will become effective as soon as we publish notice of them. We may publish notice by any reasonable means, including by E-mail or by posting notice on our Web sites.

Your privacy is important to us. We are committed to providing our valuable customers with the best and most useful information available anywhere and protecting our customers' privacy. We are committed to the ethical and fair use of the information we collect.

We record certain information about visitors to our Web sites for the purpose of making our Web sites more informative and useful to our customers.

The information we collect from our Web sites is limited to.

 1. Use of E-mail addresses of those who communicate with us by E-mail. Our server does not collect your E-mail address unless you specifically provide it to us or communicate with us via E-mail. We will use your E-mail address to respond to your inquiries or to send you our free E-mail letters and E-promotions, if you request them. We may also use your E-mail address to correspond with you about your account or to send you information about Boardroom, BottomLineIntl.com, and other Boardroom publications. We do not make your E-mail address available to other organizations for commercial purposes unless we have your consent to do so, or as otherwise described in this Policy.

 2. Counts and trends regarding what pages people look at on our Web sites. Example: We can determine which pages on our Web sites are visited most often, and which operating systems (such as Windows 95 or Macintosh OS) and Web browsers (such as Netscape or Internet Explorer) are the most popular. None of this information identifies you personally. We use the information in the aggregate only to improve our Web sites and make them more informative.

 3. Information volunteered by site visitors. We collect personal information about our customers on customer service forms, subscription forms, surveys, contests and promotions.

Our agents and vendors, such as database architects and E-mail broadcasters, who have access to our customers’ personally identifying information, are instructed to only use this information in connection with the work they are doing for Boardroom and for no other purpose.

Boardroom may disclose information by or about visitors to the Web sites in order to (1) comply with applicable laws, (2) respond to governmental inquiries, (3) comply with valid legal process, and (4) protect the rights or property of Boardroom.

 4. Cookies. We may use cookies on the Web sites to help make our visitors' experience more enjoyable and to help us understand how visitors use the Web sites.

Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser when you return to, and navigate through the pages of, the Web sites. Cookies also allow us to measure the number of times a user clicks on articles on our Web sites that are featured in our E-mail letter, as well as the "passalong rate," that is, when the E-mail is forwarded, and sales of our products advertised in the E-letter. Cookies also allow us to deliver E-mail that is more relevant to each E-letter recipient.

Cookies, by themselves, do not tell us the identity of an individual user unless such information is provided by that user. But if you choose to give us this information, it may be linked to the data stored in your cookie.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies by modifying the settings in your browser. However, you may not be able to use all the interactive features of our site if cookies are disabled.

There are a number of ways to manage cookies. If you use different computers in different locations you will need to ensure that each browser is adjusted to suit your cookie preferences.

A browser is a software program installed on your computer enabling you to visit websites, navigate from web page to web page, print web pages and even E-mail. Common browser brands include Internet Explorer, Netscape and AOL. Remember that if you use different computers in different locations e.g. a computer at work and a computer at home, you may have a different browser for each.

Some modern browsers have a feature that will analyze Web site privacy policies and allow a user to control their privacy needs. These are known as "P3P" features (Privacy Preferences Platform). You can actually set privacy preferences in your browser before you begin to surf the Internet. As you download web pages a P3P-enabled server will send the content to your browser together with a privacy policy that your browser can automatically read. Before your browser displays the page it will match your privacy preferences with the site's—if there is not a match, you will be alerted so that you can decide whether to proceed or not. For a more detailed explanation of this ongoing project please click here: www.w3.org/P3P/.

You can easily delete any cookies that have been installed in the cookie folder of your browser. For example, if you are using Microsoft Windows Explorer:
Open 'Windows Explorer'
Click on the 'Search' button on the tool bar
Type "cookie" into the search box for 'Folders and Files'
Select 'My Computer' in the 'Look In' box
Click 'Search Now'
Double click on the folders that are found
'Select' any cookie file
Hit the 'Delete' button on your keyboard

If you are not using Microsoft Windows Explorer, then you should select "cookies" in the "Help" function for information on where to find your cookie folder."
